Ander - ... Potrwa Wiecznie [Zoharum - 2021]... Potrwa Wiecznie severs up a selection of atmospheric sonics that blend ‘n’ blur ambience, electronica, cinematic-like scoring, low key industrial/ noise elements, and general mood scaping. The seventeen track album certainly covers a fair bit of sonic ground, as well as a fair few moods- and this it does, for the most part, in an even and accomplished manner. The CD release appears on Zoharum- presented in a suitable moody mini gatefold, this takes in a rather grim black & white picture of decaying/ bones showing through an animal corpse in a desert, topped with eye-catching yellow texts. So, a striking looking release.
The seventeen tracks featured here each run between just over a minute to nearing the nine-minute mark. We go from the haunted ambient meets slow stabbing techno, and atmospheric field recording layers of “Łodygi Bzu”- which breaks mid-track for a surprising, but effective Spanish guitar moment. Onto the felt ‘n’ hazed plodding keys, simmering synth string , and post industrial mood scaping of “Szczególne Przesilenie Nocy”. There’s the layered female spoken word blur meets electro vibe haze of “Śmierć Samuela”.
As we move into the last quarter of the album we have the skittering-to-hissing electro beat craft and wondering piano to keyboard unease/ wonkiness of “Na Prawym Suficie Cienie”. There’s the batting ping-pong ball beats meets murky ‘n’ swimming ethno ambient dense-ness of “Zakłócony”. With the album playing out with locked horn bay meets slicing industrial churn haze of “Zmarli”.
I'll certainly say if you enjoy more hazed/ ambient genre-blending then ... Potrwa Wiecznie is something you’ll be wanting to check out. Head by here to check out the release/ buy direct from Zoharum. Roger Batty
