Damage Concentration - Paranoid Confusion [Gates Of Hypnos - 2021]Paranoid Confusion is a fifty-minute ‘wall’, which blends grinding bass judder ‘n’ churning with tight hacking static detail- to create a nice dense and entrancing example of the wall noise form. This release appears in the form of a digital download on Poland’s Gates Of Hypnos, who has released a spate of worthy wall releases over the last few months. Damage Concentration is one of the many projects of uber prolific Russian noise maker Ivan Sandakov-who has put out literally hundreds of releases. This particular project has been active since 2017, having coming on for thirty releases to its name. I guess Sandakov most known project is Sleep Colum- which has near six hundred releases in its discography- so he’s certainly an always busy/ active noisemaker, and from what I’ve heard he always seems to put out worthy/ rewarding work. The single self-titled track here rolls in at the 50.56-minute mark- and it’s certainly a nicely unrelenting and the world around you muffling wall, which is definitely best played on headphones. The ‘wall’ brings together taut bass-bound judder 'n' churn, this is tightly weaved by flitting and crusty static hack- together these elements create a wonderfully encasing ‘wall’, which both bass brutalizing and tightly texturing batter in its static grain attack- with the whole thing have a most appealing undulating and worming quality about it. So, if you are looking meaty ‘n’ sonically surrounding wall craft- that’s both sludgy, brain drilling and entrancing you’ll be wanting to check out Paranoid Confusion- so head here to do so.
