Light Collapse - Self-consumption [Torga Amun - 2017]Self-consumption is a single slice of battering, belligerent, and boorish HNW from this long-running Russian project. It comes in the form of a pro-pressed & labeled CDR, which takes in the single wall, and this appeared in late March of this year The track here comes in at the spot on the forty minute mark. And the ‘wall’ on offer is a fairly no-nonsense & firmly fixed affair, though I did detect some possible slowing of both textures along the tracks length. It brings together a rapid & crudely muffled judder, manic hacking ‘n’ slightly splitting static descents, with a billowing rush of drone. The judder has a feeling of both blunt-ness & roaring tumble about it. While the hacking & splitting textures feel smaller & less defined, often getting lost in the billow drone.
There’s is nothing terribly distinctive about either the textures unitized, the way they're fed together, or the overall feel of the wall its self. But if you're looking for more straight ahead & crude wall matter- this might press your buttons. But personally, I found it a little too so-so. in conclusion, not the best work I’ve heard from this project, but acceptable enough. Roger Batty
