Train Cemetry - All Alone [Reason Art Records - 2017]All Alone is another fine example of detailed & creatively textured wall-noise from this project from Elektrostal Russia. The release comes in the form of CDR on Reason Art records, and this features a single hour long slice of taut, tense, yet highly detailed wall matter. The labeled CDR comes in a slim line DVD case, and this features dark & murky illustrations of two skulls with their mouths open as if screaming out eternal despair & loneliness. The release came in an edition of five copies, and as of writing the label still, has just a few copies left.
The track featured here comes in a spot on the hour mark. And it’s built around a tensioned-though- moody mesh of the following elements: A constantly juddering ‘n’ rolling cable bound texture, A beaded ‘n’ looped tumbling, a constant crackle ‘n’ snap patter-nation, and a selection of smaller pops, clicks, crisper sways ‘n’ sows. Together these create a ‘wall’ that’s both intricate, mixed perfectly, and entrancing in it unfolds. From the outset, the track captures you in its textural web and doesn’t let you up until an hour later. Though-out the ‘wall’ I found my mind wondering if there was any movement in the ‘walls’ weave, and I’m still unsure- at times it feels like there maybe subtle sweeps & ebbs of slightly different texturing appearing, at others I’m sure it’s firm, and it’s just a trick of the mind…and of course this type of thing always adds another layer of appeal to wall-matter.
Simply put All Alone is another extremely worthy example of this projects detailed & perfectly crafted wall-matter. It’s a wall that’s both entrancing & theme fitting in it’s unfold, and I’d say it’s on par with the best work I’ve heard from this project. The release is available in both CDR & digital, but personally, I’d see if you can snap-up a CDR copy before they're gone, as I prefer physical copies of releases if at tall possible.
