The release appeared on Rapture Records; which is the HNW/ noise label of French female wall-maker Charlotte Thevenin (formally Skrobek), who is most known for her Naughty project.  The plain black shelled cassette comes in a baggie- this features red black & white fold around sleeve, which unsurprisingly(considering the projects themes) features a picture of a tight wear women sat on a bed, through  her face is missing due to a tear in the top of the picture. The whole thing is nicely & distinctive topped off with a red ribbon, which is tired in a bow to the top of the baggie. Sadly the physical tape version of this release is now long gone, but you can still download the release from Raptures band camp.

First up on side A we have "Portrait I"- this brings together a roaming, slightly uneven, and bothersome bass bound noise billow. This is surrounded by a detailed & intricate mesh of thinner noise tones- which take in rapid skips, crisp hacks, and wiry jitters. Together these create a wall that’s head boringly focusing, yet detail rewarding.  On a few of this projects past releases there have been ambient or unsettling elements present beneath the ‘wall’- but as far as I can make out this track is void of these elements. Structurally the first half or so of the track is fairly unformed in both of it’s elements, though in the later half the thinner elements seemingly get piling & raging.

Flipping over to side B, and we of course have "Portrait II"- this once again is a blend of deep low end, and weave of more detailed & thinner noise textures.  For this track the low-end has a more focused roasting feel about it, and the thinner noise textures take in a selection of crisp snaps, cluttering jitters, and meatier judder pile-ups. The low-end seems bone drilling set over the ‘walls’ full length, through the other elements  have a little play & move them. Once again the track is missing the under laid elements, yet it’s still mangers to keep ones attention with it’s blend of textures.

As AM’s releases go Portrait of Miranda is a more formal & less progressive take of walled noise. So if you’re a ‘wall’ fan whose recently become aware of the project, but are unsure of the less projects more experimental edger’s- this release is for you. As it certainly features two enjoyable examples of brutal- yet- detail worthy wall-craft.
