Nar - Death Fetish [Self Release - 2013]“Death Fetish” is a truly crushing, suffocating & bleak slice of black-as-night walled noise. The just over thirty two minute track on offer here is both tense & oppressive, yet also oddly hypnotic & kind of haunting too. Nar is a HNW project that started in October 2012, and it takes the whole mysterious project thing to new heights- basically nothing is known about this project; not even country of origin. So far the project has put out six releases, taking in tape & CDR release. This fairly recent release comes in the form of CDR. The spray painted black & grey CDR comes in a plastic slip sleeve, which features a folded paper cover that takes in pictures of a grim snow covered grave yard. The single track on offer here is based around a numbing & battering mixture of: dredging 'n' murky churning low-end fixed sludge noise, juddering crust-niess, and a truly dread heavy billowing ‘n’ purring air-less drone-this drone brings to mind the endless juddering of some aged mortuary extraction fan. These elements are fed out into a unchanging, muffled & truly dense mass of sound, which seemingly darkens yet entrances ones playing space. With out a doubt this is one of the most bleak & darkly enveloping slices of unmoving HNW I’ve heard in sometime. With it’s grim, hopeless 'n' bleakly subterranean rumbling & churning vibe this is up their with some of the best work by the likes of great death encrusted HNW projects like Bördel Noïr Roger Batty
