Dove Yellow Swans - Live During War Crimes 3 [Release The Bats - 2009]

There’s no doubt about it during the mid to late 2000’s The Yellow Swans were the most exciting, creative & each release anticipated act with-in the worldwide noise scene. With their distinctive & one off mixture of noise, boiling psychedelic drone matter, caustic yet at times haunting & harmonic  guitar scaping, and seared ambience- Sadly in early 2008 the band decided to call it a day. 'Live During War Crimes 3'  is the final volume in the series of the excellent live collections which shows this inventive & inspired two piece at the height of their powers in the live arena.

On offer here are over 70 minutes of music & four excellent, varied & highly creative tracks that fall between around the fifteen minute mark to over the twenty five minute mark a piece. The four tracks here come from across the last year of the bands existence from 07 to 08 and were recorded in various US cites. The tracks go from: thick, noisy & shifting psychedelic drone noise workouts which boil together seared yet controlled electronics & epic, caustic yet at times harmonic guitar scaping & texturing. Onto more building and dramatic ambient to seared/ creative post-rock & finally noise high blow-outs. With each & every one of the four tracks here being captivating, hypotonic & wonderful blanced between the yin & yang of noise and harmonics. I can't & wont pick a favourite track here as each & every track is pretty spectacular & extremely worthy in it’s own right, and like the other volumes in this series each track is recorded perfectly so you get the perfectly feel of ragged, sometimes brutal glory & emotion on every track.

All told 'Live  During War Crimes 3' is as good as the other two volumes of this collection; and it once more shows the Yellow Swans in their creative & awe inspired element. Really a must have item if you have any interesting in harmonic & dramatic laced noise making of any form…but act quicky as this is ltd to 500 & I’m sure these will disappear very fast indeed!.
