Istituzioni Ambienti Naturalismo - Luminamenti [Monstres par Records - 2008]Luminamenti is a wonderful collusion & brain melting sonic stew of musical elements, noise matter and jagged electro-acoustic elements. Through-out the album switchers rather nicely from searing yet playful noise battering down to damaged harmonic wonderings, and everywhere else in-between. The tightly packed 20 minutes sonic attack and drift that is Luminamenti goes from: looped strummed folk moves, onto bent sentimental piano wonderings, over to speed-up and warped easy listening rushers, into throbbing & droning feed back forests and noise boils. Onto sailing through vibe harmonic tinkling, & moving through gentle fields of melodic guitar that are jagged with all manner of searing and quirky noise making. Really it’s astonishing how many ideas and elements have been crammed in here and it's even more astonishing how most of the time it mangers to work with it’s constant and deranged see-sew between been noise based and conventional musical and harmonic based. The disk is topped off with artwork that nicely compliments the damaged musical beauty meets jarring noisiness of the album with the full colour Digitpak featuring a hazed and street light tinged cityscape on the outside and on the inside a grim and splattered picture of road kill. All told an invigorating and devilish ride into a place noise meets off- kilter harmonics and creative yet demented sound making. This is another one of those act now or regret it situations as this is sadly ltd to only 30 copies!- so to hear samples and buy direct check out the labels MySpace site here. Roger Batty
