Kylie Minoise - Live In Japan [Kovorox Sound - 2009]Live in Japan finds a mixture of tracks that take in Kylie Minoise heady and creative live noise attack and quirky Japanese TV / field recordings cut-ups giving one the feeling of a noise tour travelogue really. First off we have Live Aktion 68 which opens up with a few minutes of hyped–up Japanese’s commenter introduction before jump into damn loud shifting and crashing noise attack, which seems to been made up of overload vocal attack, amp-up and meshed up oriental music and filing cabinet crash and roaring down a steel stair case like Sonics- it certainly wakes you up. Later on we have a seriously fuzzed and noised up version of The Sex Pistol God save the Queen- with throbbing noise bass line static and top of your guts screaming vocals. And then we have my favourite moment here the just over ten minutes bleak noise drone atmospherics of Live Aktion 67; which mixers train rail like screech and drag with a grim harmonic presence that hums ever so often to the tracks surface; giving one the feeling of a panicked and dizzying running in an underground tube station. Another fairly solid release from Mr Cummings and his Kylie Minoise project; not as must have items as say the Fucking love & Hate albums but certainly worthy of your time if your already a fan of Kylie Minoise work.
