Decimation Blvd - Put your Hands in Fire [Public Guilt Records - 2007]Put your Hands in Fire is a dense stew of lo-fi electronics that dabbles in electronica, old school industrial, Grey malevolent boiling drones- with traces of noise and 70’s horror film uneasy & fear. There really seems little light, air or light relief here from it’s out set your strapped in you head force back and then Decimation Blvd attacks you with sadistic and sleazy vigour for the next twenty or so minutes with it seemingly getting more muffled ,suffocating and noisy as it progresses. Though it’s divided into 6 short tracks this works best a one slowly shifting grey audio soup of beats, feedback, fear and sleazy with a nice lo-fi production value giving the material that extra claustrophobic edge. An ep that really sucks you in deeper and deeper into its grey and red nightmarish and uncomfortable world that feels just about right at its relatively short running time. An interesting start from Decimation Blvd which can’t be faltered for it claustrophobic and airless violent vibe, though it stills needs a little bit more of its own originality & personality to really step fully out from it’s influences.
