Various Artists - The Trinity of the non Being [Autumn Wind Productions - 2006]The Trinity of the non being offers us a trip into dark/murky ocultic and left-hand-path pitch black ambience. Mixing in ritual percussion and black industrlized traces, as the title suggest we're led on our trip by three diffent and dark musical entity’s. The first three tracks are taken up by Black Seas of Infinity- who offer up dark, dense and often chilling rthymic repetitive & building evil sound worlds. Weaving in all manner of eerier samples, bone like percussion, layers of hells pits drone matter. Though all of the three tracks are equally dark and claustrophobically inviting, the first track To Receive The Perplexity of the soul of Liberation is the most effective with the sound of shovelling either the coals of hell or earth on top of the dead, a sinister flute like drone, bell tolling, and a ramberling creepy old dark priest dialogue track underneath. Next two tracks are taken up by Kaniba who once more offer up two dense dark and what the hell-is-that-noise grim sound caves to get lost in. Theyseem somehow slightly more primal and disconnected from our world, as they use a lot of undefined sounds less instantly recognizable dialogue or sound matter. Again quite repetitive and rhythmic, but somehow more doomy- like one has gone too far down the left hand path to come back, as you near the yawn and throbbing black abyss. Lastly we have a track by Ugegi Aoiveae A Ser which feels like your teetering on the very edge of the abyss, with black tentacles flicking your very being. This is a slower developing & deeper sound endeavour, than the proceeding tracks, built around odd/barren ringing & low down shifting of black scale like earth plates, tearing hot and foul smelling air sound, and guttural groaning drones from deep with vast black and oily throats. The rhythmic elements have all but gone and we’re left with dread so deep it’s all most choking- welcome to the very floors of hell. A very compelling and mind altering trip from the dark regions of our world to inescapable endless darkness. To find out more enter this dark gateway Roger Batty
