The Perishing Of Faith/ No Fun HNW - Split [Basement Corner Emissions - 2025]Here’s a two-way US wall noise split bringing together Cincinnati’s The Perishing Of Faith and South Carolina’s No Fun HNW. Each party offers up their take on searing, nasty, and totally hopeless walling, with each roll-in around the thirty-minute mark. This digital-only release appears on Portland, Oregon’s Basement Corner Emissions, who have been a long-term releases/ supporters of the walled noise form. Cover artwork we have a simple, yet effective inverse picture of an electrical power plant, which is fitting, as both tracks often possess a dense/ amping up power feel. The release can be found here.
So first up is The Perishing Of Faith “Omnipotent?”. This ‘wall’ is a crude and coarsely rapid mix of electric-cable bucking/ arching, and rattling/smashing mix. The track feels akin to being wired directly into the mains- as limbs first shudder, madly flay, then smoke. A great example of nicely intense/ overloaded wall craft.
Next/ lastly, we of course have the No Fun HNW track, which is untitled. Here we find a blend of galloping static hissing ‘n’ baying & rattling mids with a hiss sub grain edging. If the first track brought to mind wiring a body into the grid, this track sounds like something rapidly jumping & bucking on a rolling flow of electrified water.
In finishing, if you're looking for full/intense, and electric- pylon frying walls- give this release a go!. Roger Batty
