Death To Dynamics - Appendage [Death To Dynamics - 2024]Appendage is a twenty-six-minute slice of walled noise, which blends earthy rubbles/ reverberations, with giant wormy-like tunnelling/ boars. All giving one imagery of something huge & shudder-inducing, stretching its thick appendages through a weighty dark earth underground- so a most fitting title. This digital-only release is from UK’s Death To Dynamics. For the cover artwork, we get a picture of a startled faced humanoid figure in a visored metal helmet- it looks like it’s been cropped from Hieronymus Bosch's painting. The release can be heard/ downloaded here.
The single track comes in at the 26.28 mark. It opens with a selection of dark earthy rumbles, stretching ‘n’ pushing tones, with few murky subtones. As the track progresses we get these wonderful tunnelling, pushing, and groaning tones mixed into with the fairly constant flow of weighty bass rumbles. The ‘wall’ is an effective blend of pressing/ constricting heft, huge churning earthiness, and bleak/ thick worming.
Appendage is a journey into dark & weighty texturing- all making for eventfully stretching & thick worming trip into walled noise texturing from this UK-based project. Roger Batty
