Latex Priest - Passed Out Behind The Puppy-Mask [HNW Netlabel - 2024]Passed Out Behind The Puppy-Mask is an example of brutally galloping to intensely cluttering walled noise from this US project. The single thirty-five-minute track is themed around S&M, and one does feel like they are wrapped tightly & still in an all-over bondage suit when playing the track. The release is a digital download- this appears on the UK wall noise label HNW. For the cover artwork, we have a photo of a back of a figure wrapped up in a black & red trim bondage suit - which includes a full head mask. The release can be heard/ played here
The self-titled wall blends a low-end warbling flame-like billow, skittering static grain, and this sort of worming hissing tonality. These elements are set together in a thick & truly suffocation/ light block mat of sound. As the ‘wall’ unfolds one's attention nicely shifts from one texture pattern/ flow to the next- with the whole thing possessing a fitting feel of both weight & air-less-ness.
This release nicely sits between scuzzy & old school HNW, and more sear-bound textured noise- with the whole thing having a nastily roughshod feel/ unfold. There is a slight amount of shift in the ‘walls’ patterns- but these remain fairly reserved set for the most part.
If you are looking for a limb-battering ‘n’ white hot roasting walled noise attack then, Passed Out Behind The Puppy-Mask certainly fits the bill. Roger Batty
