The Boredoms - Super Roots 3 [Very Friendly - 2006]Super roots 3 is the next in the series of reissues of The Boredoms experimental ep’s from 1994 to 1999 on the Very Friendly label. This like the others in the series was a experiment in different sound, that didn’t really fit in with things they were doing at the time. This was orignal released in 1994 and consist of one track Hard Trance way( Karaoke of Cosmos) which is just over half a hour of hardcore tow cord trashing guitar and bass work with lots of crashing drum work. The pace stays pretty constant, with a few slight changes in the riff and some neat drum fills and other percussive matter, appearing though out its running time to keep the listeners interest. It feels like a pumped up road trip through a changeless desert, as there’s little big thematic changes. But never the less there’s a certain charm in its brutal dusty throat naivety. An interesting guitar and drum beating, that maybes not as rewarding as some of the rest of the series. But must be praised for it’s focused stuck in a rut groove, that you keep think will deviate and never does. Roger Batty
