Death To Dynamics - You Belong With Us [Death To Dynamics - 2024]You Belong With Us is a rapid-if-blackly battering example of the walled noise form from UK’s Death To Dynamics. The twenty-one-minute wall brings together constantly rolling low-end tarriness, with mid-range judder & a slightly crusty skip. It’s a self-released digital affair. With a rather creepy monochrome cover taking in a washed-out rounded bone-white mask. To stream or download drop by just here.
The single track comes in at the twenty-one minute & eight-second mark. The ‘wall’ is largely a very simplistic & set affair- been constructed around a thick pouring to tumbling low end. This is edged with mid-range judder, which at points resorts to fleeting crusty skips & rattles. The only deviations occur around the fourteen & just at the end of the track- these sound like a flame suddenly rushing back & forth as if to create a fireball.
The low end on this track is wonderful thick, dark & raw in its attack. Due to the weighty crush of the low end, the sub-tones are less defined- which pulls you into those more, and more. I have mixed feelings about the sudden pattern shifts- as they do pull you out of the wall's thick & crusty embrace, yet as jumps in tone they are effective.
You Belong With Us is a thick, nasty, backbone-weighing- ready-to-snap slab of walled noise heaviness. Roger Batty
