Death To Dynamics - Thoughts & Prayers [Death To Dynamics - 2023]Thoughts & Prayers is a single-track release from UK’s Death To Dynamics. It rolls in at just over the twenty-one-minute mark, and is a brain-battering ‘n’ bone-grinding example of walled noise form This is a self-released digital affair. Cover artwork-wise we have contrast-heavy picture of what looks like three conjoined children of around six or so. The release can be found here.
The single untitled track slides in at twenty-one minute and forty three seconds mark. The ‘wall’ is centred around a thick, rough, and ready low end- this is both billowing & slightly buffeting. This is surrounded by rattling, cluttering, shredding, and grazing sub-tones, these are kept fairly low key- add the subtle detail to the general roasting & crushing weight of the track. I guess imagery-wise wise I’m getting been continually fed through an ageing combine harvester- as grey weather batters, and dusk is just starting to edge in the hedgerows of the fields.
As the whole thing moves along its grinding way- we get a few pockets of slightly higher pitched drag & scrape, but these are kept lowkey & flitting in their attack- with the focus always being the dense crushing weight of the whole ‘wall’.
Thoughts & Prayers is a take-no-prisoners, back-crushing, and base take on the walled noise form. So with this in mind, I’d say you may need to be a slightly more seasoned wallhead- to pick out the subtle details in the releases thick mass Roger Batty
