Following the success of "Welcome To Earth", Apoptygma Berzerk did an extensive tour through Europe and the United States. "APBL2000" is a live recorded documentation of that tour.

Sophia is the solo project of the male part of Arcana, Peter Pettersson. Last year’s self-titled debut took the CMI scene by storm and here’s already the third release in a year time under the same name, called "Herbstwerk".

A while ago I was browsing Vitaminic (a website similar to mp3.com) hoping to discover something interesting by listening to random bands from the prog metal section. I was expecting most of them to be total cliché crap, bad high pitched vocals, cheese and all but I nonetheless clicked on the first band name that got my attention on the first page (in alphabetical order).

When I first saw the video for Mexico Or Bust on Yo! MTV Raps years ago I immediately tracked down the album. Hiphop that didn't have an urban feel, but more of a desolate desert atmosphere, now that's something different!

I'm not sure if this is a bandalbum or a solo-album by Stian Carstensen, but the whole band appears on this album so I assume this is a bandalbum.

On his latest offerings John Zorn pays tribute to persons that influenced his work. This time he performed (almost) all music himself including his first piece of computer music.

With a title like "Rock Action" you will probably expect some rock and action. Yet Mogwai’s third album isn’t full of action nor does it really "rock".

These people are not musicians, they are scientists. Let me explain; They are searching for the right modulation, the right vibration... The right frequency! What goal are they trying to reach, what will they discover (if they haven't already)? Who knows, but it's a nice trip when you tag along.

After the really hard to swallow first Fantômas album "Amenaza Al Mundo", the band with Dave Lombardo (Grip Inc, ex-Slayer), Mike Patton (Mr Bungle, ex-Faith No More), Buzz Osborne (Melvins) and Trevor Dunn (Mr Bungle) release "The Directors Cut".

Wow. Here is something you don't hear often : a bag-pipe intro. And what an intro it is, lasting for an entire four minutes.

We're deep down in dirt this time.

"Coco Chanel -Welcome to hell. Let me out of my prison cell. I bring you hot towels and flamboyens oils. I'm a cat stuck between transport doors."

"Wild scannin the technological rhythm laser vibo meter Connected into the time laps per metric spectrometerYou witness landscapes of lyrics at a helio-optic compressionRate of written symmetrics for power profits fit shiftingAnd any tririledium composition recorded today"

There is an interesting analogy that can be made between a GYBE song and when you played Lego(tm) as a kid: most of the fun was building things up and creating a new reality, leaving this earth for a dreamworld shaped by yourself, a realistic or totally alien landscape right out of your imagination...

Clap yer hands and dance with the Devil! That's right, theater black metallers Cradle Of Filth have a new release out, only a year after they gave us the album Midian. This time, however, we're talking something else than a conventional album.

Dutch surf punk-rockers Travoltas started to experiment on this album. Club Nouveau is a weird mixture of punkrock, surf music (Beach Boys), pop and electronics. As weird as it may sound, Travoltas make it work on a couple of songs.

Tender ears beware, this is extreme metal! Brutal music with thrashy guitar riffs, relentless drumming and half-shouted, half-growled vocals.

Describing Bay Laurel as a gothic rock band would be quite accurate musically speaking. But when I think about gothic rock I usually expect something German and boring, and Bay Laurel is neither from Germany nor sleep-inducing.

"Everything I touch I break"... 16 songs of melancholy and personal breakdowns are ready from Stabbing Westward. With singer Christopher Hall as the natural focus, the songs are surprisingly dark for a band in this genre.

In no way can this album be seen as a failure as it is already one of the top electro/ebm releases of this year.

I guess this is what happens when a group of extroverted and creative musicians with a bunch of acoustic instruments lock themselves up in a studio during the night (in this studio there is most certainly a fireplace, some comfortable furniture and a lot of alcohol).

This is already the second Beangrowers album after their debut "48K" but strangely enough the album is simply titled "Beangrowers" this time.

Of The Wand And The Moon’s performance at the Wave Gothic Treffen in Germany on the 2nd of June was something to look forward to. But one could never expect that it would be as good as it actually turned out to be.

You probably all know Samael from their fantastic albums "Passage" and "Ceremony of Opposites". Samael was one of these bands who always developed their style of music further but still remained brilliant with each release. Their music was always cold and aggressive.
