Rotoscope was formed by Andreas Mjøs in 1999. It's a six piece of artists and performers with diverse musical backgrounds, including Lars Horntveth and Rune Brøndbo.

Yet another name for a James Plotkin project. Romance suggests nice and cosy music, the album's title points in another direction though...

James Plotkin's latest release is a departure of the poppy and ambient activities of the last five years. The very dense material on this album is very intense and energetic.

The swansong of OLD displays a very structured and stripped-down version of the futuristic psychedelica of its predecessor 'Musical Dimensions Of Sleastak'. The use of vocoders injects the music with a sense of melody new to OLD.

Moloko had their biggest hit with disco/techno remix of 'Sing It Back'. Although their regular records were more in the vein of electronic funk and pop, they always had a connection to the techno-scene.

This is the third installment of Unquiet Grave, a 2 CDs compilation of songs from underground bands coming from various dark backgrounds; darkwave, goth-rock, industrial & a pinch of black-metal.

Puissance is probably more known for its radical views upon the world than for its music. But the newest release "Total Cleansing" should change that. With the help of Blooddawn / Regain Records and a slightly more accessible sound the Swedish duo is ready to take over the world...and destroy it.

For those who are not afraid to listen to metal, jazz & radiohead back to back - now you can listen to all those at the same time!

This review will not be a usual one, it is mainly aimed at people who have already heard Switchblade Symphony since I wouldn't recommend to judge a band from a remix album

On this highly anticipated new Death In June album Douglas P. has ended the cooperation with Albin Julius (Der Blutharsch / ex-The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud) and returned to his roots musically speaking. But was this a good decision?

I really hoped for a good Tricky album. His first 'Maxinquaye' is still one of my favourites but over the years Tricky moved away from trip-hop to a more poppy style. Progression is not a bad thing, but with 'Blowback' I have some problems.

Faith No More can be seen as one of the best rock-bands ever. With 'King For A Day Fool For A Lifetime' they released their best album.

Another artist on Constellation Records, another unique vision of sadness and gloom. Sometimes it makes me wonder if life really is that crappy in Montréal or it's just that these guys are on the wrong side of the tracks.

Noone in their right mind would call this release new anymore, in fact it's five years old and Amber Asylum's first album. But I'm still reviewing it. Because, frankly, it deserves it.

The Norwegian duo Xploding Plastix creates music with a combination of jazz and electronic beats.

"Call us old-fashioned, but whenever we self-righteously draw out our pagan bow-strings back, our arrows are aimed at Beauty and Truth. We usually miss. But we try to make damn sure those ill-shot arrows hit ground somewhere near the region of Entertainment!"

Dopey, alienating, hallucinatory, minimalistic but maintaining a hardcore streetmentality. Sensational's fourth album holds no big surprises. Like this albums predecessor Heavyweighter he keeps it short: round and about 40 minutes.

On his previous album Yngwie adopted the Rising Force banner again and this comprised a return to the sound of those days. No more commercial tendencies, just the music that Malmsteen does best: baroque 'n' roll, baby!

Since I discovered them, thanks to John Chedsey of SSMT, Nomeansno has grown to become one of my favourite band. After having listened to a variety of songs coming from their whole two decades career, it soon became clear to me that there was definitely something special about this band and that I needed to track down their albums.

Finally something new from this band that I greatly admire for their compositional skills! Actually, this 5 songs MCD is not completely new;

Fontanelle is what happens if you sneak into a jazz band's rehearsal space during the night and substitute their instruments;

Mirai, the frontman of Sigh - the always surprising Japanese metal band, has said about Imaginary Sonicscape: "We consider our new album to be a 21st century metal album with 70's equipment, 80's metal spirit and 90's digital technique".

So far, the circumstances concerning this release's distribution have given birth to far more discussion than the actual music itself. Maybe because so few people apperantly have heard this EP yet.
