After the destructive “Cold Dark Matter” released last year, a new release from the Norwegian Red Harvest is welcomed with open arms. Actually this is not a new album, but a re-release of the mini-album “Newrage World Music” from 1998.

Hoven Droven roughly translates into 'spectacle', which was true for the first three albums and the liveshows in particular. Hoven Droven injected their Swedish folk with heavy rock and jazz.

As with this album's predecessor Dumbala Dumba, Romania's most famous gypsy ensemble Taraf De Haïdouks invited some guests to their party. This time from outside Romania: the Macedonian fanfare Koçani Orkestar, from Bulgaria clarinettist Filip Simeonov and the Turkish darbukaplayer Tarik Tuysuzoglu.

Not much has changed on the third Dargaard album after their fantastic debut "Eternity Rites" and the even better follow-up "In Nomine Aeternitatis".

A lot of things can happen in five years. People can meet each other, get engaged, married, fed up with each other, divorced, remarried and lots more several times in those five years. Musically speaking, a band can release two, perhaps even three decent albums in that period of time.

A new CD, a new Sound. Enslaved seem to make a hobby out of it. The change from "Eld" to "Blodhemn", is not quite as drastic as from "Blodhemn" to "Mardraum", though. The beginning of Enslaved's 'Nightmare' does not reveal anything to shocking -at first.

So, let's try to distance ourselves from the 'R' band in this review. You know, the band who recently released the album with a bad memory. Muse has been compared to them lot's of times, especially with their debut album Showbiz.

It's trip, but not really hop, it's more like pop: Trip-Pop. That's how I would describe the sound of Belgian act Hooverphonic. How funny it may sound, it actually works for me.

On his 11th studio album everything is a bit different than before but this is probably the best Nick Cave album I have ever heard.

The album starts off with nice soothing keyboards, all smooth and relaxing. This sets the tone for most of it even though the first track is probably the most memorable (as in catchy) of the album because of the guitar melody (which is one of the only immediately apparent hook on the album).

Yeah, the world does. The world also needs good music and Megadeth should keep focused on that objective. For someone like me who never really got excited about the cartoonish Countdown to Extinction and never bothered to check out Risk because it looked so watered down and boring, this is the final argument:

This isn't the kind of music you put on to annoy your parents. Hell, they might even sing along! To me this sounds like very eclectic rock music done with the punk attitude and ideology.

This 7th Edge of Sanity aluminum disc is as shiny as the others, but is it as good? The first thing that the attentive listener remarks is the heterogeneous nature of the songs, and this can, easily enough, be explained by the fact that this is Dan "only me and god are everywhere" Swanö's last album with the band and he had already a foot out the door.

Everyone was already waiting for this album. After Kid A's release the band made an announcement to release a second album from the same recording sessions. Amnesiac is the end-result and personally I'm statisfied, but Kid A had a bigger impact on me.

I wish I was as excited as when Ultra came out. This new Depeche Mode album seems to be the logical continuation after Ultra but there seems to be something missing.

I've lived with this album for a while now, I'm not exactly sure how long, but it had time to grow on me and reveal it's subtleties (yes, ultra-heavy, anger ridden, hyper-kinetic post thrash with industrial touches and, as an added bonus, SUBTLETIES!).

When this CD was released in 1994, the trip-hop history was about to deviate toward a more mainstream status. This is the album that did what Massive Attack couldn't do alone: bring the hypnotic beats to a larger audience and this without compromising the formula (as the Sneaker Pimps later did).

This live album might not be what some of you expected after ToT's latest release "Musique" which received quite varied reactions.

The title says it all. It's smooth, warm and dangerous, it's California. I have never been there but I've seen Baywatch so I know what I am talking about, haha.

If you thought that Ulver would release a drum 'n bass or techno album after their Metamorphosis EP then you are wrong. The wolves just can't do the same kind of music twice and so they experiment with electronics, samples, beats and rock on this album Perdition City.

Jamie Saft, a New York based organplayer who made several appearances on John Zorn's projects like Music For Children and Filmworks IX, debuts on Zorn's label Tzadik with an original application of Jewish traditions.

Cultband Thorns has been a big inspiration to many of the first generation of Norwegian black metal bands. Riffs from the demo and rehearsaltape that were circulating in the scene were used by Emperor and Mayhem. Mainmen Snorre Ruch and Bård 'Faust' Eithun had to do some time in jail so there hasn't been a chance to pick the fruits of that fame.

The wait is over, you die-hard Weezer fans have something to digest again. A new Weezer album is finally out. The titleless third album is embraced by the fans as "The Green Album" already.

Peter Tägrtren, who doesn´t know him? The producerwho gives every metal cd a nice touch of quality production. The man behind death metal band Hypocrisy, but also the man who could be on the poster in your sister´s bedroom.
