Style Drift is the upcoming second full length album from Fontanelle. Like it's predecessor Style Drift was recorded at the band's Magnetic Park studio. The album will be released on november 4th by Kranky.
The premium vinyl pressing of Aphex Twin Drukqs is scheduled for release on September 9th. It will be available at Warp Records, and in good UK independent shops. It's limited to 1000 individually numbered copies.
World Serpent has announced the release of Plastic Spider Thing, a release by Black Sun, using music from the Coil archive. Black Sun have been performing live with Coil recently and the album serves as the soundtrack to The Plastic Spider Thing.
The two full-length albums currently being recorded by Opeth at Nacksving/Maestro Music studios with producer Fredrik Nordström are scheduled to be mixed during September. The "heavy" one under the watchful eye of Andy Sneap and the "mellow" one by Porcupine Tree frontman Steve Wilson. As previously reported, the heavy CD — due worldwide on October 28th — will be typical Opeth with all its ingredients, including mellow parts, while the "mellow" CD — set for release in March 2003 — will contain more laid-back material.

Samael delivered to Century Media a 10 tracks project under the name Era One in order to fulfil their label's request. This consists of programming and vocals work not involving any guitars or other live instruments. Release date is expected for this fall. This will mark the end of the contract between Samael and Century Media, much to the relief of the swiss band. Era One should not be considered as the new Samael full-length.
Right now The Gathering streamlined their upcoming album into a 10 track full length, a mere 50 minutes of music. The band has done a track called A life all mine with Trickster G (Ulver) singing which turned out totally amazing. Norway's Satyricon will be collaborating with famed Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund (i.e. Metallica, Ozzy, Madonna, The Prodigy) on a video for the song Fuel For Hatred, which is set to appear on the group's forthcoming Volcano CD, due on September 2nd through Capitol Records in Scandinavia and Nuclear Blast Records in other parts of the world.

Marty Friedman and Dave Ellefson, of the late Megadeth, teamed up with country artist Steve Richards to do a cover of the, also late, Buddy Holly. It's one of the last songs Buddy wrote before his untimely death in 1959 and it's called That Makes It Tough and will be released on Richard's upcoming album Southbound Train.

The Ulver remix album has become a double-cd,set for release January 2003. Final score of partaking artists will be announced this October. The act also has been employed for the soundtrack to the upcoming Norwegian anti-Dogma outburst Svidd neger. Bassist Sean Malone, Jim Matheos, Kevin Moore and Mike Portnoy have a new band called OSI (Orchestra of Strategic Influence) of which we reported earlier. Pain Of Salvation-vocalist Daniel Gildenlöw has left the project. The release is set for august the 5th.
