Former Estradasphere drummer Dave Murray is working on a "multigenre musical story/adventure" about a detective. The workingtitle is "The Deserts Of Traun". Dave composed and orchestrated everything and will be playing most of the instruments. The artwork will be done by Colby Bluth and the CD will feature an enhanced part with a trailer of the animated epic Dave and Colby are hoping to produce, Tentative releasedate: March 2003.
Lot's of Ipecac Records news. This month they will release the new Isis and Moist Boyz CDs. Tomahawk will not be doing the next leg of the Tool tour, they will record the new disc. Isis and Moist Boyz samples are in the Ipecac archives section.
Several European sites from the free (legal) mp3 service Vitaminic will be closed soon. The company will close the Dutch, German, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Irish editions and will continue with the Italian, French and UK sites only. For now the closed sites will be maintained, but there will be no more updates.
The Gothenburg, Sweden show from Theatre Of Tragedy on May 12th 2002 was recorded by the Swedish National Radio P3 and will be broadcasted at the end of August. The exact date will follow on their official site.
Sunn 0))) will perform at the ATP festival UK edition (curated by Autechre)in early april 2003. They will also tour Europe around the same period. Expect all dates to be announced soon here.
Constellation Records has announced the release date for the next album from Godspeed You Black Emperor. Yanqui U.X.O. takes the form of a double LP/single CD and is due to hit Europe on November 4th and North America on November 11th. The album is recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago and mixed by Howard Bilerman and the band at the Hotel2tango in Montreal.
Out Hud are ready to unleash their debut full-length through Kranky. S.T.R.E.E.T. D.A.D. is due for release in November but the Kranky site already has the album cover artwork and some sound samples.
The Legendary Pink Dots have just announced the tentative schedule for their North American tour. The support act will be Origami Galaktika from Norway. More at www.brainwashed.com/lpd/
Hooverphonic revealed that they are to release a DVD around Christmas. The DVD will hold all the video's as well as the live set they recorded for the TMF channel, plus the making of several tracks. The band also confirmed that the second single from their upcoming album Hooverphonic presents Jackie Cane will be One. And finally, the bonus CD of the upcoming album will feature remixes of older Hooverphonic tracks
New CD releases from Jazzland Records. Coming in october is Jazzland remixed vol 2 and a new label sampler. Terje Isungset will release Ice in september. In tandem with the new Jazzland remixed CD there will be 2 new 12"s from the album. Sidsel & Bugge Try and Wibutee's First There Was Jazz 2.

Sigur Rós' third album is to be released by Fatcat Records on October 28. Un-named and represented only by a symbol best described as a pair of brackets, ( ). The record contains eight songs, each of which is also untitled. The material is drawn from the live set the group have developed in three years. ( ) is the first Sigur Rós record to be made at Alafoss, the group's studio just outside of Reykjavik. It was recorded there between January and March this year and mixed at Real World in June and August, with co-producer Ken Thomas. It also features the group's live string section amina throughout it's 70-minutes length. Read the rest of the press-release here.
After touring successfully around the globe Múm will return and do a concert in Reykjavik on the 31st of August. The concert will take place at the National Theater. If you wanna come see it, record shop 12tonar is selling tickets.
The new Jaga Jazzist album The Stix is released today in Norway. The album will be released in the rest of the world at the end of the year. The band will also be touring through Holland and Belgium in november, more info can be found here when we learn more.
