Marjolein Meijers, better known as 'Annie' from De Berini's, started a band with Fred Piek, formerly from Dutch folkband Fungus. Walter Kuipers and Izak Boom joined them to play cozy four-voiced Western swing, bluegrass and country. Lyrics are translated in Dutch by themselves with a humourous touch.
The Anti Pop Consortium will be opening up on all the current DJ Shadow US tour dates. Their set is followed by a screening of "Keepin' Time", a short film, which will play right ahead of Shadow's set.

Maudlin Of The Well's next studio date is at July 13th. Song titles will be announced exclusively to their mailinglist, which can be found on the official site. The band has also been announced as one of the bands playing at this year's ProgWest festival in Claremont, California. Which is happening at November 9-10.
In Flames' new album will be titled "Reroute to Remain" and is scheduled for a release at September 2nd in Europe and September 3th in North America.
Isis has finished their debut record "Oceanic" for Ipecac Records, with producer Matt Bayles. Among the tracks to be included are "The Beginning and the End", "False Light", and "Hymn", with the material being described as a mix between the old Isis and Mogwai. Keep an eye out for the CD in September.
The re-issue of the debut album from Norway's Arcturus, complete with new artwork and the legendary and highly collectable "Constellation" and "My Angel" ep's as a bonus is out on Candlelight Records. The album has been remixed and remastered by Garm and also features two previously unreleased tracks.
Drummer Mathijs left the Dutch band Merengue (reviewed here). Within a couple of days the band found a new drummer in Yu Heng Ng. At the moment they are rehearsing for their coming gigs.
Devin Townsend and company played 5 brutal new songs to an audience of 400 last Tuesday night at The Whisky in Hollywood, California on their 7-date West Coast tour. The band won`t stop talking about how they can`t wait to make Strapping Young Lad a full-time band again. The artwork for the new album will be done by Travis Smith. SYL are recording in September and would like to shoot for a February, 2003 release.
