The Gathering have added a rockumentary from their past to the site. "When we recorded Always... in the beginning of 1992, our producer Han S. recorded some footage with his video recorder. Gorillaz have decided to release a DVD and CD-ROM package on November 11th. The tracklist is not yet available for Phase One: Celebrity Take Down, but the content has been described as animated versions of the songs from the debut album. There will be two versions of the DVD, a standard edition and a limited-edition. The latter will feature a 48-page booklet with artwork and new stories about the cartoon characters.

Solefald finished recording and mixing their upcoming album In Harmonia Universali. The band is in the process of mastering it in Oslo this week. Sadly you will have to wait until January / February to get your hands on this CD. According to Lars Nedland the album will consist of ten songs, and the vocal arrangements are larger and more complex this time around. They brought along a male choir and a saxophone player in the studio. You will also hear a lot of real Hammond organs and a Steinway grand piano.

The people at the CMJ music marathon convention have invited Tomahawk to headline their opening night party on Oct 30th at the Roxy in New York. Tickets will go on sale Thursday for $20. Ipecac Records will also release the new Ruins album Tzomborgha on 29 october.

We reported this some time ago, but it's official now. Múm has announced that one of the band's founding members, Gyða Valtýsdóttir, officially left the band after a final performance last week in London due to time constraints. Valtýsdóttir revealed in a statement on the band's site that she has recently begun her second year at the Academy of the Arts in Iceland where she's presently studying cello, and that she has become unable to divide her time between the band and her schoolwork. Múm's final radio appearance with Valtýsdóttir in tow will air this Thursday on BBC Radio 1's Peel Sessions.
Portishead is apparently ready for another go, as their forthcoming album, tentatively titled Alien, is due to be released sometime this winter on Mercury Records. According to Euro Beat Magazine, the record will run just over an hour in length and will be enhanced with multimedia. Tracklist: Open Box, Love of Life, Broquette, Broken Wall, Beatless Day, Of Liberty for All and None (ft. JD Smack), Alien, Signature, Minor Pain, Traveling Fast to There, Tomorrow's Death, Broquette (multi mix in F#- slowdown). But before that happens, vocalist Beth Gibbons will be releasing her solo debut, Out Of Season, on october 28th. The record is said to consist largely of "semi-acoustic" and "deeply moving" songs, and will feature ex-Talk Talk bassist and O.Rang frontman Paul Webb backing her up.
