Misanthropic Agenda records annouce the lineup for the Merzbow "Frog" remix release. Clean out of the studio from recording Oysterhead's debut with Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Stewart Copeland (The Police), Les Claypool returned to the studio for the recording of his Fearless Frog Brigade. This band consists of drummer Jay Lane (Sausage, Rat Dog) and guitarist Todd Huth (Primus), augmented by keyboardist Jeff Chimenti (Rat Dog and Pharoah Sanders). Other cohorts are saxophonist Skerik (Critters Buggin, Galactic, Ponga and Tuatara) and guitarist Eenor. Colonel Les Claypool And His Fearless Frog Brigade previously released a 2-part live album including a full rendition of Pink Floyd's Animals.
Norwegian Rune Grammofon records will release a couple of new albums soon. The label is dedicated to releasing work by the most adventurous and creative Norwegian artists and composers. More about their releases here.
Coil will be appearing live at the New Forms 2002 Festival, presented by Paard Op Hol at Theater aan het Spui in Den Haag, The Netherlands on June 7th and 8th. Other artists on the bill include Von Magnet, Biosphere, Christian Fennesz, Hazard, Little Axe, John Wozencroft, Hector Alveilos and more.
Arcana and Sophia will perform live at The Vampyria in Reggio Emilia, Italy on the 30th of April. It will be the first gig for Arcana since 1999. More info will soon be available at www.erbadellastrega.it.

April 29th is the release date for My Dying Bride's "For Darkest Eyes" video on DVD, including extra material. Also on that date, a brandnew live album will be releases called "Voice Of The Wretched", recorded in Tilburg, Holland at the Peacefest last year. In the mean time, keyboardist Yasmin Ahmed has left the band due lack of time. She will be replaced by Sarah Stanton and planned live gigs will be continued.

A 'hiphop musical' is how Dr. Dre describes his new album Detox. To keep it real and hardcore with is gangsta-life far behind him he figured to come up with a fictional story about a hitman and his family. The album is planned for mid-2003. Rumour is that it'll be his last.

Bill Laswell is currently working on various projects, among them are: a Tabla Beat Science live CD (on Axiom), The Ethiopian Project with Gigi and many others (ION) and he contributes, along with longtime companion Robert Musso to Russell Mills' 3rd album. He's also doing productions of the new Sly & Robbie album called Devil's Pick, Russian saxophone-player Igor Buttman and his band and Admas, an Ethiopian group. Also remixes of Tony Williams' Lifetime (a treatment like Panthalassa) and DJ Logic material are being in the works. His label Innerhythmic will release a compilation called Excavation: "radical codes for brainwave interference" with contributions by Jah Wobble, PhonosykographDISK, Material and himself.
Finnish Amorphis got their old drummer Jan Rechberger back who previously played on 'Privilege of Evil', 'The Karelian Isthmus' and 'Tales from the Thousand Lakes'. The band is currently working on new material.
The Avalanches have signed to Elektra Records. Their debut, 'Since I Left You' was originally made available on the now-defunct London/Sire records. Elektra is giving the album and single 'Frontier Psychiatrist' a second chance, including free remixes.
