Originally released in 1991 Day Dream B-liver was somewhat an odds & ends release from The Residents. Bringing together a selection of unreleased tracks from the project over three separate decades 1980's, 1970’s, and 1990’s. And surprisingly for this type of thing, it’s wholly enjoyable, consistent, and worthy venture, which nicely highlights the different sides of the projects sound- going from the quirky & filmantic, onto the early wonky & primal, though for the more pop bound-yet-still odd. So, of course, it makes perfect sense to reissue this- with this new CD pressing appearing in early 2016.

Turning Point(not to be confused with the US Hardcore band of the same name) where a Uk based six piece fusion band. They existed for a few years at the tail end of the 70’s , and offered up a melodic, groovy, and at times moody blend of fusion. Here we have a double CD reissue of the projects only two albums - 1977’s Creatures Of The Night, and 1978’s Silent Promise.

The Blackout Experiments is a 2014 documentary directed by Rich Fox. Fox has worked as an editor on some pretty high profile TV series, most notably Aquarius starring David Duchovny and Glee. This is only his second directorial effort, the first being a 2001 documentary called Tribute, dealing with the musical subculture of the heritage/tribute act.

Throughout their 35 years of existence’s British project, Alien Sex Fiend have gleefully darted genre labels & brackets. With their often darkly tongue in (rotten)cheek sound that blends together elements of Goth, psychobilly, punk, electro-fired shock rock, and various brands of electronica. Fiendology is a three disc CD anthology that highlights both the projects sonic versatility, dark humour, and a keen ear for both mood & melody.

Lawrence English is a composer, sound installation artist, record producer, and record label manager living in Australia. His works often explore the nature of perception. He has released solo albums on highly valued imprints like Crónica, Important, Line, Sirr, Touch, 12k, and his own label ROOM40. "Approaching Nothing" is his third album on Baskaru.

L'eclipse Nue is an industrial / noise unit which began in Tokyo, Japan in 2009. Their sound is a mixture of synthesizers, samplers, vocals and effects. The unit consists primarily of one member, Daniel Sine, with occasional guest appearances and collaborations with other artists. On this album Daniel is aided and abetted by Mayuko-Hino and Hugh S.

Here’s a huge 6CDR set from Shurayuki-hime, presented in a DVD case, and adorned with a picture of an angelic looking japanese girl - I’ll confess that I have no idea of the significance of the image, but I believe the name of the project comes from the film Lady Snowblood… Each CDR is titled with a pattern of dots pertaining to its disc number, and this seems perfectly in tune with the visual aspect of the release, as well as the track titles - the first three discs are parts of Her Rose Blushed Cheeks, whilst the latter three make up The Scent Of Flowers: all these things carry a simplicity and minimalism that reminds me of aspects of traditional japanese culture.

As its title suggests Vampire Cop attempts to bring together horror & action/ cop genres, and it does so to decidedly mixed results. The film originally appearing back in 1990 and was the first shot on film movie by infamous Kansas based lo-budget director, producer & king of SOV horror Donald Farmer. Here we have a recent region free DVD reissue of the film- which takes in two cuts of the film, and a worthy commentary track from Farmer himself.

The Dawn Of Sleaze is the most recent slice of sleazed & creative walled noise from this Danish project. It comes in the form of C30, which appeared on German noise & experimental ambient label Geraeuschmanufaktur.

Artefacts features two slices of dense-yet-interestingly & moodily layered examples of wall craft from James Shearman; one of the more active & prolific artists in the UK wall scene. This release comes in the form of a C30 tape, which appears on Stockholm based Ominous Recordings.

La Veuve Au Vagin Denté is one of the early releases from this respected & highly prolific French walled noise project. It dates from September 2015, and came in either a physical CDR edition (of 15 copies) or a digital download. Sadly the CDR’s have long gone, but you can listen & download the release from the projects Bandcamp.

August 18th saw the reissue of Horrific's 2009 debut, Your Worst Nightmare, on Hell's Headbangers. The sole release under this moniker, Your Worst Nightmare is ten tracks of headbanging, heavy metal fun, all performed by one man band, Slasher Dave (Acid Witch). Despite the trite inspiration (wait, a heavy metal band that likes horror films and gory comics? Get out of town), Slasher Dave knows what metal fans want, and delivers some fun, head banging metal.

Soundscape composer Andreas Usenbenz' second album "Bells Breath" originally appeared in 2016 in digital format, then in 2017 it got a vinyl release on the klanggold label. The album is created solely using recordings of church bells from the Minster of Ulm, refracted into a softly shimmery ambient syrup.

Here we have a deliriously bonkers sleazefest from the master of cheap Italian exploitation cinema, Bruno Mattei released uncut and uncensored in HD for the first time. The Other Hell represents nunsploitation in its most extreme form, it has all the trappings of this subgenre, possession, stigmata, murder, Satanism, sexual violence, and explicit brutality. The Other Hell remains Mattei’s crazed, stylized masterpiece of exploitation cinema, one that continues to shock and surprise over 30 years after its initial release.

Creepozoids is a wonderfully prime shot of 1980’s schlock bringing together elements of sci-fi, horror, creature feature, and the post apocalyptic. Here from Full Moon Futures is the first ever Blu ray release of this 1987 film, and I must say it’s one of the best ‘bad’ movies I’ve seen in some time.

All Alone is another fine example of detailed & creatively textured wall-noise from this project from Elektrostal Russia. The release comes in the form of CDR on Reason Art records, and this features a single hour long slice of taut, tense, yet highly detailed wall matter.

As this releases title suggest what we have here is live album, which brings together Japans master of noise Merzbow, and Hungarian drummer Balázs Pándi. The CD offers up a single forty four minute set that sits somewhere between harsh noise, jazz noise, brutal jam craft, and seared psychedelic texturing.

Inter*Face, the eighteenth album from this German electronic legend appeared slap-bang in the middle of 1980’s. And it shows Mr Schulze trying to mix his trademark synth sound with more 80’s bound elements, such as New wave beats, instrumental synth pop, and more dance bound rhythms- it’s fair to say it’s somewhat of a hit & miss affair.

Expo 70 is the progressive drone/space/krautrock project of guitarist Justin Wright. Originally starting out as a solo project Expo 70 have morphed into a collective with the addition of a rhythm section, however Wright remains the group’s focal point. This collection brings together material recorded and previously released as singles between 2008 and 2011. The band’s label Zoharum describe it as a good entry point to a vast back catalogue that seems to have been continually growing over the last 14 years since the project’s inception in 2003.

Workhorses of the spoken arts world, Cadabra Records, are back again with another top notch horror release, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles. This deluxe, limited, vinyl-only release comes with liner notes by producer Anthony D. P. Mann, and haunting artwork by Adam Burke. Presented in the form of a radio play, this engaging tale is given vibrant life by a talented crew of voice actors.

Croatian band TeHom return with their fourth album, taken from TeHOMs performance for “The Keep Ambient Lodge” at 2016’s Brutal Assault Festival in Czech Republic. Live Assault is recorded directly from the soundboard and mixes the recordings from two microphones placed in the hall to capture the live sound.

Ambition, aspiration and deep soulful explorations are crucial for Zu, who have been broadly questioning and evolving their musical identity for almost two decades, developing their musical vocabulary with every release and collaboration. All of their strongest inspirations and artistic reference points have produced a very varied output, evolving from one album to another.

The Slayer is a slow, moody, though at times quite gory slasher film from the early 80's. And here from Arrow video(both in the US & UK), we have the first ever Blu Ray release of the film. And as we’ve come to expect from Arrow we get a mighty fine & crisp new transfer, as well as the nice lot of new extras.

Birmingham industrial/doom act, Khost, are back with their third full length on Cold Spring, Governance. Once again teaming crushing doom with the bleak fury of industrial machinery, the duo continues to make their mark on the industrial underground. Hot on the heels of their Godlfesh-remixed, 2016 album, Khost show up fully prepared to pummel the listener into submission.
