Wood Matress — Foul Synapse
Foul Synapse is intensely rapid, galloping, and baying slab of walled noise from this Illinois project. It’s a single track at around the thirty-one-minute mark, and boy, is it an unrelenting ride, with some nice shifts really upping the intensity of the whole thing.
The digital release appears on Cincinnati, Ohio's Stemms Audio. For cover art, we have a crudely pixelated and monochrome picture.
The single track opens up as a rapid and intense sonic whirlwind of bass billowing, and coarsely jittering static scrabs. As the track progresses, it seemingly speeds up & down slightly- with along the way rewarding shifts into either more billowing or searing sustains, before returning to its original setting. All in all, making for a very intense/ nasty walled noise ride, which truly does roast your sonic sensors.
If you’re after raw, roughshod and overloading harsh noise wall fare, give Foul Synapse a go.
