Wilting GOd & Rumonoise — Split
Here’s a wall-noise split bringing together Florida’s Wilting GOd and Turin’s Rumonoise. Each party offers up a thirty-minute track that’s both seared and dense in their takes on the walled noise form.
This is a digital-only release on South Carolina's Dying Monolith HNW. Cover art-wise, we have a fluorescent green kaleidoscopic picture with the project's names on in black text.
First out of the bag is the Wilting GOd track, which is entitled “Boundless Gnashing”. This brings together constantly rolling/slightly buffing mids with a mix of swooning high waves & dragging/ whistling train track-like hiss. The ‘wall’ nicely balances chaos and overloaded structure well, as you can both follow the patterns, but you are also unsure if the track will finally come off the rails or not.
Next, of course, is the Rumonoise track “RNS2605170200”. Here we find a mix of clamouring thick mid-range hack, spurting hiss, and blunt judder. Once again, there is a feeling with this track that the whole thing could suddenly fall apart/ short out, but it never does.
If you dig dense and nasty walling, that feels both chaotic/ on the edge of self-destruction, then this split will most certainly appeal
