Whore's Breath — Problem Acquisition
Here’s an electro-choppy, grain-juddering, and at points texturally unpredictable example of the wall-noise form from Cincinnati's Whore’s Breath. The single track slides in at just under the forty-five-minute mark and is proof once again why this is one of the most consistent, at times experimental projects operating within walling today.
This is a digital release on Trois Rivières, Québec Echoveil Records. For the cover art, we have a hazy picture of what looks like a stretched mesh of flame- this works well for the full-to-petering-out feeling of the ‘wall’.
The ‘wall’ opens up as a mix of hacking ‘n’ chopping electro tone texture blended with continual bass roll chug. Every so often the ‘wall’ shunts/ comes to a brief stop where we get a mix of swooping ‘n’ buzzing slice/ dragging. The main ‘wall’ itself nicely batters in its electro chop, and the sudden stop and start elements add in a great sense of rewarding unpredictability.
Problem Acquisition is a wall noise release that wonderfully blends electro piledriving with textural unpredictability. for another great release from Whore’s Breath.
