Watch Me When I Kill — Primal Impulse

Watch Me When I kill is one of the lesser know Richard Ramirez(Werewolf Jerusalem, An Innocent young throat Cutter, Black Leather Jesus, ect) projects. It’s been in existence since 2008 putting out six release thus far, the project also features Ella Einsmire(ex Anal Drill, S.S. Electronics, E.E.E). Primal Impulse is a enjoyable, thick & often jitter bound slice HNW making with some neat and at times amusing Giallo film samples interlaced through-out the tracks just under half an hour runtime.

The CDR comes in grim yet effective full colour sleeve featuring a picture  of the lower half of naked  female corpse that has been burnt badly around the legs. The track starts off with a snippet of Giallo type dialogue  featuring a conversation between two men talking about a killer possible either been a homosexual or impotent. Soon we drop into the nice ‘n’ nasty crackle, jitter & static juddering wall of sound that’s built around two interlocking  fazing in & out harsh electro drones. With-in a few minutes the track becomes much thick & denser in its attack, yet it still nicely keeps the fazing in & out like electro drill like tones that are now jittered over by crushing static loops as your forced deeper in the wall of noise.

At the Seven minute mark we stop for a bit more gallio film dialogue, male & female arguing & later some dramatic music, water tones, screams & manic female breath. By the nine minute mark we’ve kicked back in with a new thicker wall of tighter, crusty & juddering static tone abuse that has a nice suffocating  & panic feel which sounds like what you might hear if your were been held underwater by a black glove killer & fighting for your life as your held down under rushing & radpidly filling bath. As this 'wall' goes on it becomes more of- kilter percussive, hammering & rapid steel battering like in its attack & around the eighteen minute mark it peels off some of it’s wall layers to become a bit more tunnel roar like in it’s intent.  All  told the whole tracks a very enjoyable, shifting & varied slice of thick judder bound static & wall making that keeps you attention through-out.

This is the first time I’ve heard any of  Ella Einsmire work & I really enjoy the way that both he and Ramirez build, alter & shift the walls of noise with-in Primal Impulse. So in finishing off this easily stands amongst some of Ramirez best work; so I egger to hear more of this projects releases along  of course  Ella Einsmire other projects work too.
