Vacant Align — 4326
4326 is a forty-five-minute slab of walled noise from this Wisconsin-based project. It brings together bassy brood, circling hiss, and uneasy scrap for a moody and deeply oppressive noise ride.
This is a self-released digital affair. For cover artwork, we have a hazed/ blurred monochrome picture of what looks like a blend of crude bent pipe, an off-white tube, and a weird jagged textured thing- all of this gives the release a very uneasy vibe.
The dead on forty-five minute wall pulls together- a rumbling ‘n’ galloping bass tone, circling ‘n’ crackling hiss, and cluttering unease scrape. Together, these elements create a ‘wall’- that is oppressive and airless, brooding and uneasy, and generally gloomily uneasy. I’m getting an almost techno fed S & M vibe about the whole track, which it most certainly sucks you in & keeps you held for its full runtime.
Vacant Align is somewhat of a newcomer to the worldwide ‘wall’ scene, as it started releasing work in October, but it’s most certainly one of the most promising projects on the scene. 4326 is another prime example of this.
