Vacant Align — 10426
10426 is a recent slice of dense, texturally detailed, and atmospheric walled noise from Wisconsin’s Vacant Align. The single/ dead on forty five minute ‘wall ’ has a rather taut industrial feel to its blend of rapid bass rumbling, juddering, jangling and rattling textured noise.
This is a self-released digital affair- for the cover, we have a decidedly dark/ murky art, which looks like it’s a blend of bare floorboards and hazed static.
The track presents a very tight & taut weave of muffled bass rumble, nuts ‘n’ bolts rattling, baying ‘n’ battering mid-range gallop, and subtle touches of whistling sear. It’s both doomed ‘n’ bleak, yet erratic and unrelenting- at the same time. If you shut your eyes, you can almost imagine you're locked inside some huge/ ancient/ seemingly endless machine shop- where you get a feeling you've been watched by the hunched and deformed spirits of people who lost their lives in the places machines.
10426 is another rewarding release from Vacant Align, as the ‘wall’ features both rewarding textural detail & dark/ bleak atmospheric. With a slightly more industrialised feel compared to projects other work.
