Drone is  a  wide  and varied church of sound, it’s variation  wonderfully highlighted by this double disk compilation of  ltd Vinyl only tracks from Drone Records. We go from metallic guitar and organic string drones, bell like banks of sound, slight percussive drones, to deep and vast synth and electronic derived  sound drones. Each disk lasting 70 minutes a piece, so there’s much to get your self lost in.

It’s a real showcase of how drone should be done well taking in many know names like Aube, Francisco Lopez, Yen Pox, Inade and  Reynolds. The quality though out is top notch and knee deep in atmopshere. Each of the 20 tracks creating it’s own rich world of harmonic sound- going from deep and dark, to  dread filled  creepy, to graceful and fragile, to sunshine dazzlingly  beautiful. Really this would act as a perfect primmer for those wondering about the drone genre, but also works as a great collection of rare tracks for the long time drone fans, since all of the orignal pressings were only ltd to 250 copies each and of course  are long out of print. The two disks come in a nice white card double cd slipcase, with pictures of all the original covers for each release, along with a short write up about the drone Records label.

Yet another rewarding and quality release from the excellent  tumult label, that you'll want to submerge your self in again and again. To order direct & find out more hover down to here.
