The Bad Statistics Lucky Town Gone

The Bad Statistics make stumbling, droning and sleazed  grange rock that’s rich with jagged discordant edger’s, haphazard sonic slumps and a rather appealing seedy atmosphere but the strangest and most unique element of the bands sound is the madden and manic vocals of lead singer Thebis Mutante; who gives one of the most unhinged and unbalance vocal performer I’ve ever heard.

He mumbles yelps & jabbers on in a strange tongue, his tone going from deep voiced to high pitched and everywhere in-between as he manically rants and raves over the doomed grange rock churn; really giving the feeling he’s just been unleashed from a padded cell. Yet I’d hate to underplay the rest of the band as they make an enjoyable and sordid backing that shifts through some interesting and sleazy sonic ideas. With later tracks having druged-out guitar visas, slow almost lost bass wonderings, wavering horn pumps, honking sax work, and organ drone backing for his rants Thebis Mutante. Because
ultimately the jabbering of a mad man would soon become stale  very if there was some not entraining and effective backing too- which there is plenty of here

One of the more distinctive and sleazed guitar based bands I’ve heard in quite sometime- this is their second album so I’m sure there’s more to come  from the band unless of course Thebis Mutante  does flip for real.
