Stress — Channel 0-1
The first unnamed track clocks in just under the twenty six minute mark & is built around a very active & tense ‘wall’ of boiling liquid judder bound static. For this track Duncan mixers together a tight ‘n’ caustic static over boil juddering tone and a deep subterranean tunnel boring tone. He skilfully rubs & drags these two elements together to make a very rewarding & trance inducing slice of HNW. There are no sudden greatshifts or major changers through-out the whole piece, but there are some slight textural developments; along with a very distinctive feeling of rapid & crushing pace though-out. This sucker just seems to sink it 's teeth deeper & deeper into you like a dogs locking jaw or a bloated leach.
Lastly we have the second unnamed track which comes in just over the eleven minute mark & instead of going for the juddering boiling water tones of the first track- this track finds Duncan at first producing a rich & engulfing stream like hissing tone, then later he moulds in a slow constant liquid pouring sound with the stream hiss. It brings to mind watching a someones helpless head been pour over by a thick rush of boiling liquid; the skin at first blisters, then it breaks & over time starts to drop off in streaming lumps of flesh & hair to the floor- as more & more water is poured
So in summing up two very effective, searing & trance inducing slices of nasty sounding ‘wall making’ that will appeal to those who like their ‘walls’ thick, active & unforgiving. To hear samples pop along to Stress’s My space here
