Sado Rituals INRI

[Gates Of Hypnos — 2024]
Reviewed 3 April 2024by Roger Batty

INRI is a single forty-minute-long work that blends together constantly shedding/ chalky wall noise crunch with set/ brightly simmering ambience. It’s a work that nicely brings together searing & glowing ringing in an engagingly rewarding manner.

The digital-only release appears on Poland’s Gates Of Hypnos. With the simple but effective artwork takes in a bright white cross, which looks like it’s lightly darted by glowing fireflies.  The theme  here is  the structure of  laminin( a large molecular weight glycoproteins constituted by the assembly of three disulfide-linked polypeptides, the α, β and γ chains which present itself in a crucifix form)

Sado Ritual is a Polish project that has been active since 2019. To date releasing coming on for two hundred releases- which move through HNW, ANW, dark drone, and industrial genres. I’ve personally reviewed around fifteen or so of the project’s releases- pretty much-enjoying everything I’ve heard from the project.

The single track comes in at dead on the forty-four-minute mark. It’s built around a churning ‘n’ chalky flow of crunch- which is underfed by a constantly revolving bright ringing tone sustain. The crunch sounds akin to the sound of slowly mixing cement, and at points it feels like the whole thing is ticking/ slowing- though I think this is a trick of the ‘wall’. The tone sustain feels very glowing/ bright in its feel, with the contrast feeling of white highness.

In finishing INRI is an appealing & entrancing crossbreed from Sado Ritual- which is primed perfectly for headphones, so you can catch the crunch detail & glow to ring.
