RRR — Ritual
The thirty eight minute track is built around a mixture of smeared & muffled low-end buffeting, which is topped with crust of unrelenting rattling/ juddering texturing. The low-end has a nicely crude, raging & murky subterranean quality to it, while the rattling/juddering features an effective feeling of trapped or imprisoned rage. The whole thing rather brought to mind some diabolic & sleazy creature stuck inside a barred & subterranean cave- as it rages & shakes against the bars, trying break it’s way out as a ice cold wind batters at it’s back.
As crude & nasty walled noise go this is fairly effective; but I must say I do miss the more locked down & pronounced synth elements this project had employed on their pervious releases; as I really felt that element did make them stand out a little with-in the walled noise genre. But that said if you’re after ugly, brutal, raging, head-battery & firm walled noise this is worth a look.
