Robedoor — Hidden Ascension
The Cdr is packaged quite bizarrely in a plastic sleeve with some kind of clump of coarse fibers/ hair. With a black and white photocopied cover all tied up with a bit of wire, that all really adds to the grim charm of the inner sounds. On offer are three tracks in all, with the first two track been the most torturess and drawn out in both tone and length lasting around 15 minutes a piece. The last track been slightly shorter at near on ten minutes and feature a more subdued, haunted and almost distant take on doom sound craft, coming towards dark ambient guitar craft that brings to mind a lo-fi version of the more grainy and streached out expanse of the swans Soundtracks for the blind. Like the yawn of the abyss- it’s self, that oddly adds on low down drums, into the mix before slipping away.
A grim and unforgiving soundtrack, a trip that should only be take if you wish to experience true bleakness, barren emptiness of staring into the abyss and it staring back into your very being. To find out more and buy direct go here .
