Ritual Stance — Bare Before The Altar
The release comes in the form of a cdr that comes in a simple yet effective black crape paper sleeve- this features just a single white stuck on label on the front of the release, and this details the projects name, release name & track title.
The single track on offer here comes in at the 47.35, and is entitled “Shielding Bosom with Dagger”. The ‘wall’ here is built around a tight & constant mixture of active juddering, jittering & grating textures- we have: a boring ‘n’ juddering mid tone, a grating ‘n’ jitter higher pitched tone, & a muffled/ cluttering grating texture (that is tone wise halfway between the other textures). These elements are melded into a intense yet at times almost harmonic ‘wall’ which tautly ‘n’ tightly batters away at you in a fairly fixed yet entrancing & memorable manner. The higher pitched / near on harmonic elements dissipate in the tracks last few minutes leaving more of a billowing ‘n’ juddering feel with-in the ‘wall’, with some nice smaller skipping textures here ‘n’ there in the ‘walls’ mass.
So “Bare before the altar” offers up a nicely rewarding & dense slice of memorable walled noise, thats atmospheric, almost harmonic & very entrancing
