Rev. Kriss Hades — The wind of Orion Pyramids of war

The wind of Orion Pyramids of war is a very one off mix of grim lo-fi black metal, chaotic guitar heroics, over the top sometimes disturbing vocals and sounds, all manner of sounds effects, with the odd stumble into haphazard industrial beat bound-ness, acoustic guitar element,grim cinematic & synth elements.The album feels like a melting pot (or witches caldron) where the Rev seemly throws in elements as he fancies & bizarrely mangers to pull it off for most of the albums running time.

The 10 minute title track that opens the album really throws you straight into the fiery, grim and bizarre musically world of the Rev; starting off with a dense mix of  storm and wind sounds, a dark acoustic guitar picking is placed over the top for a few moments before we drop into speedy yet melodic black metal riffing- with  bizarre vocal sounds and singing high in the mix seemly coming in at all angles. Then it jumps into slamming fist on steel industrial stomp with the rev’s over the top widdling and chaotic guitar heroics, which then folds into cold 'n' grim clear guitar wonders before slamming back into a lo-fi black metal charge.

The other long track here Final exaction (Ouija version) starts with weird church organ throb like lo-fi & grim early  Tangerine Dream with strange vocalising, heart beat and slamming steel erratic percussion elements. Before bleeding into a slow blacked riff crawl with the erratic percussion still holding court and the Vocals really losing the plot with  specking in black tongues, shrieks and jabbers. Latter on he chucks in some damned and strange blacked angel chants, before jumping into a  bizarre and bloody drum machine, vocal and noise overloaded crescendo. The other tracks tend more towards been vocal-less focusing more on a of mixing of haphazard guitar soloing, weird effects, erratic horror synth elements, backwards tones, stop start bits and general chaos. Thankfully the album never dips into treading guitar heroics water or coming across in the look how clever I’am manner.

An total over the top trip into the deranged musical mind of Rev. Kriss Hades that keeps the feeling of chaos, devilry and disorder through out. It’s All topped off with a 15 page booklet  of the Rev's bizarre drawings and a 8 minute video of deranged live work with the Rev attacking his guitar with knifes, saws etc. Being enveloped in overloaded light show or  lost in burning stage projections, I'd just wished they’d been a whole live set- maybe something for a future releash?!. Anyway if you enjoy metal music that walks the thin line between genius & madness- you’ll  rip this apart again & again
