Pumice — Quo
Through it still has its haphazard, stop-start and ropy edger’s Quo feels a lot more controlled and focused with an almost grander cinematic line running through some of the tracks here, as the musical pallet is widened and built upon. With at times a wider hypnotic drift revealing it’s self on latter tracks that are also often left vocal-less too as the mix of guitar craft, wavering synth, electronics, wavering organ unfold. Sadly the tracks have lost much of there feeling of nearly falling apart that made Pebbles so wonderful and dangerous, but there’s still the quirky edges alive and well here there just more focused and there still the bizarre lyrically touches like on one track were Stefan Neville Morningside( who is Pumince one and only member) talks about a dog licking out his mouth ulcer!.
All in all an enjoyable refinement and growth of the Pumice sound. Quo still sounds fresh, odd and adventurous it’s just a little bit more controlled and less manic.
