Placenta Lyposuction/XSXCXEXBX — Split c60 + C30

This two tape split brings together a c60 and a C30 tape from two fierce and unrelenting HNW acts from either sides of the globe. On tape one we have Croatian based one man project Placenta Lyposuction, and on tape two we have mysterious Californian four piece XSXCXEXBX.

The sleeves for both tapes is fairy typical (and unequal) for early Absence Tapes releases as it feature silver ‘n’ black foil printed covers. With the Placenta Lyposuction tape feature a picture of someone hold some weird lumps ‘n’ muck in their hands, and the XSXCXEXBX sleeve featuring a picture of a 50’s or 60’s female glamour model.

So first up we have the Placenta Lyposuction tape (which is a c60) and it offers up two side long and untitled tracks. The first sides track is a great and fairly rapid  thick roasting ‘n’ hacking juddering  wall of noise- it’s fairly fixed and unmoving through out, yet it’s also brutally hypnotic in it’s attack. The ‘wall’ really nicely envelopes’ you in this great furnace  roar meets subtle hacking feel. The track brought to my mind being inside a vast automated oven on a mechanical conveyer belt that keeps letting out repetitive yet distant hacks, judders and textureal jitters.

Over onto side two and we have a more raging, fierce droning and fast-paced wall of noise that sounds like your stood just behind a space rocket that’s endlessly firing-off. As the track progresses it seems to lessen in it’s face melting intensity(or maybe you’ve just got accustomed to the sonic pain!), and you can make out juddering ‘n’ screaming metallic ball bearing like subtones under the main and persistent roasting roar.  So two extreme yet rewarding sides of tape.

Onto the second tape(which is a c30) and this of course is the XSXCXEXBX tape, and it features two side long tracks which are entitled “Insatiable Lusts Part I & II”. The first side’s wall is centered  around a  very rapid judder bound boil that has really nasty hacking edges to it; underneath this main tone is this great stark ‘n’ stuck grey caustic drone- these two elements remain fixed and unmoving through-out the 'wall'. The track is most brutally appealing, and as it goes on it seems to suck you deeper and deeper into it’s stark ‘n’ boiling sonic maelstrom.

Onto side two and we have a brief movie sample of a woman say “you’re the only creature in the world that can satisfy me” then we head first into a very nice wall of churning ‘n’ juddering noise which has some nice textural shifts running through it  like: roaring ebbs, storm battering raggers and hammering static rain tonalities. Yet for all the swirls ‘n’ subtle shifts it never takes away from its extreme and battering ‘walled’ feel.

Both tapes  are highly worthwhile in there own rights, but with the two  tapes together you get just shy of an hour and a half  of  great brutal and hypnotic wall making. Another great release from Absence Tapes
