Pete Rose Lavelle — Run It Into The Ground
Pete Rose Lavelle is a new US wall project- who seemingly wants to keep it’s self mysterious…as all we know is it’s from America somewhere. Run It Into The Ground is digital release on Cincinnati’s Stemms Audio- taking in a single thirty minute wall.
The sound here is both muddy & constricting- with the ‘wall’ been built around a manically speed mix of wetly ripping low end, sheading static, and jitter bound hiss. All of which come together to create a wonderful overwhelming wall.
For cover art we a picture of a tireless/ run into the ground pick up truck, and this is most apt as the ‘wall’ literal sounds like a vehicle well & truly stuck on rough ground- as its first gears, then it’s tires lock up, shred, and fall apart.
If you dig taut & terminally shredding wall noise then Run It Into The Ground will appeal. All in all a promising early release from Pete Rose Lavelle, and I’ll certainly be keeping a eye out for more work from this project.
