Paul DVR — Miasmic Corrosion
This release comes in two forms a CDR, and a digital download- I’m reviewing the CDR version of the releases. The stamped CDR comes in a slim-line clear plastic CD case, and this takes in a wrap around colour sleeve that features a mottled & dirty like orange, black & grey wall that is overlaid with a fencing pattern like grid. Also you get a simple white card inlay with minimal release info, and a hand number( mines 9/10).
The ‘wall’ on offer here comes in at the 58.06 mark, and is built around two main noise textures- we have a taut, rapid & rolling compressed bass judder, and a continual line of tense ‘n’ aggravated thick crackling jitter. These two elements are tightly bound together to create a set matt of textural tension- this mangers to keep ones attention perfectly fixed through-out it’s just shy of an hour runtime.
Mr Dever has now been creating walled-noise, on & off, for the last ten years- and Miasmic Corrosion clearly highlights both his ability to select great textures, & then bring them together to create memorable & attention holding bit of wall- craft.
