Olion & Silver Dove — All The Pretty Little Kittens II
Here’s another highly engaging slice of wall noise texturing meets glowing ambience from Olsztyn, Poland’s Olion and Liverpool’s Silver Dove. As the title suggests, the theme is cats, and you can very much pick that up- as the noise elements often sound like close-up/ slight sped up cat sounds, with the ambience nicely illustrating the love & wonder these furry creatures can give.
The single track featured here rolls in at the 19.19 mark, and it’s a wonderful mastered/ mixed affair- so you can clearly hear both elements well/ properly.
So, the track is made up of an even blend of wall texturing, which is a mix of busy/ constant knocks ‘n’ tumbles, rapid grain weave, and faint purr. And the ambience is a blend of warbling mids & slightly higher-ranged harmonics, with very subtle hints of a glowing and ebbing drift. Later on, more defined guitar pluck 'n' sailing tones become noticeable.
This is once again another stunning collab between these two sound makers, as they offer up such an highly engaging crossbreed of genres.
Like the first release in this series, this is once again a digital-only release. So someone really needs to put these releases together and put them in a physical format, as these really are truly spellbinding, deserving a lot larger audience beyond your normal wall noise/ ambient listeners; truly, these are something very special.
