Olion — Hazy Purple
Hazy Purple is a rather organic-meets-electronic take on the walled noise form. The just under thirty-nine-minute track from this Polish project certainly feels both weathered-worn & electro-twitchy- all to create a fairly distinctive bit of ‘wall’ craft.
The cover artwork for this self-released digital album is set around balky brush-stroked purples, dark oranges, and murky blues – all creating a dense yet abstract painting.
The self-titled track rolls in at the 38.24 mark. It brings together this locked/ constant blend of boat/ oar like knocking tone, taut ‘n’ tight electro stitching with a distant undercarriage of murky knock 'n' sway. The whole thing feels akin to gliding along a river- above the sky it’s slightly yellow & hazy, as the humidity hovers tautly around… and along the river bank is a blue circuit board walkway, which is sparking & slowly arcing.
Hazy Purple is most certainly a distinctive and engaging take on the wall form- which keeps you locked in & held throughout its nearly forty-minute runtime.
