Nekro Drunkz — Absolute Filth
Starting with the pummeling "Reverse Tubgirl" and never looking back, Absolute Filth grinds and thrashes its way through 33 tracks of tight drums and heavy riffs. With both members handling vocal duties, a nice dynamic is formed, and each song has the ability to stand out and not become part of the furious soup that grind can become. Samples and "Lick 'Em and Stick 'Em" aside, the goofiness is eschewed for the sake of bringing grind to the masses. Highlighted by well recorded, skillfully played drums, Absolute Filth moves quickly and doesn't get tired.
Nekro Drunkz' latest, though, isn't without flaws. The samples are goofy, and while that's what the band is going for, it's a detractor to a non-thirteen year old listener. The riffs are heavy, but pretty traditional. Their tone covers up a lot of the missing bass areas, but the album would benefit greatly from another level of complexity.
Absolute Filth is 33 grinding tracks rife with rough vocals, solid drum work, and heavy, low guitar. Its straightforward, hammering approach helps to overcome the silly nature of the band itself. While nothing groundbreaking, it's fast, fun, and will get your head nodding.
