La Goccia D'Acqua — Tradere
Anyway La Goccia D'Acqua finds Mr Skrobek focusing in on the more atmospheric & moody side of walled noise. The project is themed around Mario Brava’s early 1960’s classic Italian anthology horror movie Black Sabbath (original Italian title I Tre Volti Della Paura), and in particular the third or first story in the movie( depending on which version of the film you watch) which details the tale of a nurse who steals a ring from a dead medium, and starts to think she’ll been stalked by the mediums ghost.
The CDR features just a single track that comes in at just shy of the twenty minute mark. It opens up with a just over minute long audio sample from the movie that takes in the sound of a rain storm & someone moving around a room. Pretty soon the ‘wall’ starts up, & it’s a very atmospheric brew of rumbling ‘n’ aged low-end which is tipped by a layer of thinner crackling almost winter rain like texturing. These elements remain relatively firm through-out the tracks runtime, through the low-end does seem to become more weathered & eerier as the track progress. On the whole it creates a very creepy & chilling vibe…I guess you’d say it’s going towards ANW territory, through there is a slight intense roasting feel to the low-end rumble, so I’d say it’s on the cusp between HNW & ANW.
On the whole this is a most rewarding slice of more chilling & horror fed walled noise from Mr Skrobek, and I hope he puts out more releases under the La Goccia D'Acqua banner soon. This is well worth tracking down if you enjoy more atmospheric & movie themed wall releases.
