Jute Gyte — Dialectctics
The pro CDR release takes in ten tracks, and each runs between four & eight minute mark. These are a heady & off-kilter blend of slurred & un-well beats, angular sound textures, all underfed by hauntingly atmospheric synth/ ambient drifts. I guess if you can a imagine a blend of slowed & woozy Autechre, Coil at their more electronic ’n’ abstract, and moody, wonky yet feasting ambience & off-colour electronica you get a idea of what to expect here.
The whole album feels quite soundtrack like in it’s unfold, and I could well imagine it been used as the sonic backing to a very strange & arty Sci-fi film about the mixing of aged & malfunctioning technology with organic & natural elements in the distant future.
The tracks here were written over a two year period between 2012 & 2014, and each track mangers to present its own distinctive sounds & textures- yet there is a uniformed & consistent album feeling running through-out the whole thing. I guess the album gets slight more abstract & unhinged with each new track, and at the mid way point the album feels more nocturnal & beat-less, before returning to more unwell & slurred beat bound tracks in it’s last few tracks.
In summing up Dialectctics is a most consist & well- convinced collection of moody & Off-kilter electrioncia/ IDM, and would as perfectly soundtrack for reading strange & unhinged Sc-fi.
