Ikodora '65 is a relatively new Dutch project who boils up a loud mixture of HNW & Harsh noise. The project has been in existence since  2008, but really seems to have only come into full & active existence this year as it put out most of the nine items in it’s discography in 2011.  “HNW2 (Cetus)”  is the projects 8th release & it comes in the form of a 3inch cdr.

On offer here is a single twenty two minute track, and this finds Ikodora '65 firing up a roasting  ‘n’ caustically jittering ‘wall’ of lashing noise that moves fromall out fixed yet feasting ‘wall- making’, onto shifting  layers  of forking, pitch shifting, and billow harsh noise. I really like the more ‘walled’  moments here as there’s some really neat & cascading HNW texturing on offer there , but I’m less keen on the more Hash noise moments- these somehow just feel a little too unoriginally and predictable, and at times it just feels like Ikodora '65 concentration is wavering & he’s just throwing in a harsh noise curve balls for the hell of it…which rather breaks the ‘wall's’ moorish & inviting brutality.

About 70% of the track I enjoy, but sadly the other 30% of noodling & un-inspired harsh noise texturing lets the side down….now if Ikodora '65 focus on just pure HNW I think he could well produce some great & wholly consist work. So in finishing I’ll say thumbs up for the HNW moments, but thumbs down for the harsh noise elements.
